BEIJING, Dec. 17(Xinhuanet) -- Newly divorced French president Nicolas Sarkozy was photographed in Disneyland Paris at the weekend with singer and former supermodel Carla Bruni, fuelling speculation of romance just two months after his divorce, media reported Monday.

The couple made little apparent attempt to hide the fact that they were there together, though none of the photos showed them any closer than shoulder-to-shoulder.

Magazines across France are set to publish photographs of the date this week. Le Parisien newspaper carried a front-page picture of the pair together at Disneyland Paris surrounded by three unidentified children with the caption "The head of state and his girlfriend Carla."

L'Express magazine editor Christophe Barbier told French television that Bruni-- had confirmed to him that she was romantically involved with Sarkozy.

"We must now wait and see how far the president will go in presenting Carla Bruni officially" as his companion, Barbier told LCI television.

Sarkozy's office declined to comment on the president's love life.

However, nobody would have expected the dark-haired blue-eyed Italian, whose previous lovers include with singers Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton and business tycoon Donald Trump, to be a potential First Lady of France.

Sarkozy and his second wife Cecilia split amicably in October after 11 years of marriage. They have a young son together and two older children each from previous marriages.

Bruni has a six-year-old son, Aurélien, with philosophy professor Raphael Enthoven.
